Kontiki Fund
Overview
The Kontiki Fund was established in 1998 to invest in listed and private equity in the Pacific Island region. It has been marketed to high net-worth foreign investors and presently has investors based in Europe, Australasia and Asia.
The open-ended fund is structured as a company and is registered in the Cook Islands to minimize regulatory complexity for its investors, who come from a wide range of tax regimes. Kontiki Fund is advised by Kontiki Capital and administrated by Kontiki Portfolio Services. The Fund is audited annually by Ernst & Young in Fiji.
To date, Kontiki Fund has held investments in companies doing business in Fiji, Hawaii, Samoa, Tonga, the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea. Currently, almost all of its investments are in equities listed on the South Pacific Stock Exchange, with some exposure to private equity.
KF is managed by Kontiki Capital (“the Manager”) and administrated by Kontiki Portfolio Services. The Manager is guided by an investment selection process overseen by an Investment Committee. Investments are selected using a tried and tested methodology which has been developed and fine-tuned by the Manager through years of local and international experience.
